Sarah has held executive leadership roles in Human Resources Management for firms from technology-driven startups to NASDAQ-listed companies. Her varied background combines deep functional expertise in the strategies and tactics of human resources with broader business and organizational management skills, applied as a leader in both for-profit and civic causes.
Sarah spent her early career as a founding member and manager of an HR consulting practice, providing strategic and operational consulting services to organizations from start-ups to Fortune 500s across a broad range of industries from financial services to non-profits. She was eventually recruited to one of her clients, a privately held technical consulting firm called Advis, Inc., as Director of Human Resources. She played a key role in the growth and development of that firm until its acquisition in 1999 by NASDAQ-listed Primix Solutions, an international strategic internet services firm. At Primix she was named Vice President of Human Resources, overhauling the firm’s hyper-growth recruiting model, overseeing five successful acquisitions, designing and installing scalable systems for both performance management and company-wide communications while serving as a member of the Global Executive Team. After Primix’ acquisition in 2002, Sarah returned to her consulting roots providing human resources, executive coaching, and operations consulting to multiple clients in the technology and professional staffing industries.
After withdrawing from paid professional work to raise four children to school age, Sarah was actively engaged in both school and civic volunteer work for her local community. She currently serves as an elected member of the Sudbury School Committee, establishing educational goals and policies for the district, reviewing and approving budgets and selecting and evaluating the Superintendent. Sarah is also currently serving in her fourth year on the Board of Directors, including three years as Treasurer, of Health Care Without Walls, a non-profit providing free, compassionate medical care, education, and advocacy to homeless women and children in greater Boston. She served on the leadership board of The Sudbury Family Network, growing membership by over 400%, and served for four years on the Town of Sudbury’s Community Center Task Force, overseeing completion of a feasibility study and development of conceptual designs for a $25 million multigenerational town facility. Sarah served on the Executive Board of the General John Nixon Parent Teacher Organization, for five years, including a two year role as Co-President and Chairing the organization’s largest annual fundraising event.
Sarah is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH with a B.A. in International Studies, and received her Master of Business Administration from the Richard T. Farmer School of Business at Miami University. She lives with her husband and children in Sudbury, MA, and enjoys spending time outdoors, skiing, hiking, Cape Cod, and crossword puzzles.
